Recently we’ve had inquiries regarding the crimp die adapter; it seems there is some confusion over when and how to use a crimp die adapter. Anyone who’s ever ordered a 1” button maker or 1” button making kit from us has received one. And, if you’ve always wondered what the heck it is and what to do with it then today is your lucky day. I promise, that just like pressing any button, it’s really easy. First and foremost – only use the crimp die adapter when pressing Medallions; also known as plastic flatbacks & not to be confused with Metal Flatbacks. Here's a quick refresher detailing the differences between medallions & metal flatback buttons. OK, so here we go - Steps to completing the patented “Third Press Process” using your Crimp Die Adapter: 1. Place a shell (sharp side down), graphic and mylar into the pickup die 2. Place the crimp die adapter (face up) into the crimp die 3. Place the medallion on top of the crimp die adapter 4. Rotate and press each side as you would any other button (shell side first) 5. Remove the finished button and put it back into the pickup die (graphic side up) 6. Rotate & press the handle a 3rd time and then remove your finished, flat as can be, Medallion Medallions are wonderful little buttons as they can be turned into to so many fun & profitable items: earrings, tokens, bracelets, rings, tie tacs or lapel pins to name a few.
